They’re good looking watches. That’s about it.

Wholly owned subsidiary of Fossil. It’s a fashion brand not a precision engineering/timekeeping brand. It’s ballpark priced with other similar fashion brands like its parent company. I’ve never owned one.
That’s all I know, haha.

Any substance behind them ? Are they at least well built?

I bought one because it matched the jacket I was wearing to my son’s baptism. Looks good, I kinda hate it.

I own three Skagen watches. I love mine. They seem to be put together well and made of good materials. I can’t say anything about reliability though since all of mine are about two years old or less.

There is no substance in a quartz watch. They are well built.

My german professor had one, it stopped during the lecture.

Can’t say if the watch is good or bad, but I did have a watch with that wrist band. Awful. Flimsy. Broke while I was looking at it in a box.
If you like it tho, who cares if it’s a good watch or not. Use your phone for time

I don't like the bracelet. It's infinitely adjustable which is nice, I just never felt comfortable with it on. It's thin though, with a leather strap it would probably be fine.

Hmm. Any other recomendations ? Also, for a cheapish watch, the corniche is very good. You should definitely buy one.

The flimsy band has come up a lot

Seiko is doing some good stuff right now.
I like Autodromo a lot, but it is a bit expensive.

It’s not a gold Rolex Day Date. So no.

Why do you want it - the style? What’s your budget?

A luxury king would not wear a Skagen watch.
My dad, brother and I have all owned Skagen and 2 of the 3 were total garbage. The jewel would crack/fall out at random. The hour indicators would come unglued and slide around inside the watch. Pig wearing lipstick.

Both my parents love their Skagens. Not sure if they’ve ever had an issue.

#notbiased. I love the day date and date just.

I have one of their other models. For the money (I believe it was around $60 at most), I have no complaints. I have yet to find a comparably priced watch that is anywhere near as thin.
Edit: I just looked at the one you posted. I don’t think I would pay that much for it. I bought mine on Amazon, I’d check on there. They have others that look similar for less money.

I just worked this one back into my watch rotation. It had been sitting in a drawer with a dead battery that I finally got around to replacing.
Even though it’s titanium and carbon fiber it was maybe 150 bucks or so? I can’t remember exactly, because I got it long enough ago for the battery to have died.
It’s nothing super fancy and the titanium case has a couple knicks in it, but it’s nice and thin and light. Never had a problem with the band.
I have a compulsion for watches that say the day and date on them so this one accomplishes that function.

Pros:
Good looking
Super thin, will fit under any dress shirt
Pretty cheap, under $100 easily
MY old boss had one for years and year, my coworker has been wearing one for years, I have one too, wife has two, no issues
Super adjustable bracelet, and a very secure clasp
Cons: watch face is not made out of any strong material, will scratch fairly easily.

It really isn't flimsy at all. It is all metal, clasp is a two stage that locks securely. I would not be affraid to buy one because of the band.

If you buy that watch you have to change all your clothing to that of a U-Boat commander, and you can only ever by your furniture at Ikea for the rest of your life.

Skagen used to be awesome. Super thin, titanium body, titanium mesh bands - neat watches . I own 2, and gifted 4 others.
Unfortunately I think their high cost low price strategy caught up with them and they got bought out by Fossil. Since then, the one we bought was pretty meh. Looks nice from far, like Fossil watches.
You might look at some at Skagen Mens ebay. Here’s a new old stock one, I have it’s twin but with grey face. Nice watch. LINK
The thin body, mesh style are old school Skagen. The leather band thick body are “Fossil” Skagen.
Here’s mine LINK .

BTW, I would judge the one you are looking at as a new “Fossil” era Skagen watch.

Love my Skagen. Mine’s super thin and classy as hell.

So the first link is old Skagen ?

Yep and the 2nd which is just like mine. When I wear it, I think it is a pretty extraordinary watch.
